Thomas Devaux, born in 1980, lives and works in Paris. He holds a Master's degree in the Performing Arts Section of Nanterre. His work is represented by several galleries. His work is part of prestigious private and public collections, such as the BNF, Louis Roederer, Huawei, LVMH, De Galbert or the Collection des Musées d'Orléans. He won the Talent Grant in 2011. His work was then exhibited in numerous countries like South Korea, China, France, Belgium, USA, England, Holland, Russia and Hong Kong, Serbia, Azerbaijan... Thomas Devaux is a visual artist and photographer and the author of several complex series in which both the founding values and current developments in photography come into play. His photographic work, which is closely related to painting and drawing, allows him to pursue his research on the themes of the sacred and the profane, which can be found in his early work. Thomas Devaux is currently developing a set entitled Cet Obscur Objet du Désir, which is divided into three series of photographs: The Shoppers, Rayons, Totems and an installation. In it, he questions the new transcendencies of the contemporary world. That Obscure Object of Desire appears as a plastic story through which the viewers become aware of their own consumption.
